Withdrawal of Manuscript
Journal of Islamic Mubādalah recognizes that authors may request the withdrawal of a submitted manuscript under certain circumstances. However, manuscript withdrawal must be handled ethically, transparently, and responsibly in order to protect the integrity of the editorial process, the peer review process, and the scholarly publication record.
Authors are expected to submit manuscripts to Journal of Islamic Mubādalah only after ensuring that the manuscript is final, original, approved by all authors, and not under consideration by another journal or publisher. By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere and is not being simultaneously submitted to or reviewed by another publication.
Withdrawal Before Peer Review
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before the peer review process begins. The request must be submitted formally by the corresponding author to the editorial office. The request should include the manuscript title, manuscript ID if available, the names of all authors, and a clear reason for withdrawal.
The manuscript will be considered withdrawn only after the editorial office has reviewed the request and issued an official written confirmation of withdrawal. Authors must not assume that the manuscript has been withdrawn until they receive official notification from Journal of Islamic Mubādalah.
Withdrawal During Peer Review or Editorial Process
Withdrawal requests submitted after the manuscript has entered the editorial review, peer review, revision, or final decision stage will be carefully evaluated by the Editorial Board. Because editors and reviewers may have invested time and academic effort in processing and evaluating the manuscript, withdrawal at this stage should be based on valid and compelling reasons.
Valid reasons may include serious errors discovered by the authors, authorship disputes requiring resolution, ethical concerns, accidental duplicate submission, institutional restrictions, or other legitimate circumstances that prevent the manuscript from continuing in the publication process.
To request withdrawal during the editorial or peer review process, the corresponding author must submit a formal Manuscript Withdrawal Request to the editorial office. The request must include:
-
The title of the manuscript;
-
The manuscript ID, if available;
-
The names and affiliations of all authors;
-
A clear and honest explanation of the reason for withdrawal;
-
Confirmation that all authors have agreed to the withdrawal request;
-
Signatures or written approval from all authors, or written confirmation from the corresponding author acting on behalf of all authors.
The Editorial Board may request additional clarification before approving the withdrawal. The withdrawal request will be granted only after the journal issues an official written confirmation.
Withdrawal After Acceptance
Withdrawal after acceptance is strongly discouraged and will only be considered in exceptional circumstances. At this stage, the manuscript may have completed editorial screening, peer review, revision, copyediting, layout preparation, metadata preparation, or publication scheduling. Therefore, authors must provide a clear and compelling reason for withdrawal.
If a manuscript is withdrawn after acceptance without valid justification, the journal may consider the action a breach of publication ethics, especially if the withdrawal is related to duplicate submission, acceptance by another journal, authorship manipulation, or an attempt to avoid ethical investigation.
Withdrawal After Publication
A published article cannot be withdrawn simply at the request of the author. Once an article has been published, it becomes part of the scholarly record. Any post-publication concern will be handled according to the journal’s Correction, Retraction, and Expression of Concern Policy.
If serious errors, ethical concerns, plagiarism, duplicate publication, data problems, authorship disputes, or other forms of publication misconduct are identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern, retraction, or other appropriate editorial notice in accordance with publication ethics standards.
Unethical Withdrawal Practices
It is considered unethical for authors to withdraw a manuscript from Journal of Islamic Mubādalah after it has been accepted by another journal, or while it is still under active consideration by this journal, without proper disclosure and approval.
The following practices are considered unethical:
-
Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time;
-
Withdrawing a manuscript because it has been accepted elsewhere;
-
Failing to inform the journal about duplicate submission;
-
Requesting withdrawal after peer review without a valid reason;
-
Refusing to respond to editorial communications after submission;
-
Using withdrawal to avoid investigation of plagiarism, authorship disputes, or other ethical concerns.
If such practices are identified, the Editorial Board may take appropriate action in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policy.
No Withdrawal Fee
Journal of Islamic Mubādalah does not charge authors any fee for manuscript withdrawal. However, withdrawal requests must still follow the formal procedure described in this policy and must be approved by the Editorial Board.
Contact for Withdrawal Request
Authors who wish to request withdrawal must contact the editorial office and submit a formal withdrawal request to:
journalislamicmubadalah@gmail.com
The manuscript will remain under consideration by Journal of Islamic Mubādalah until the author receives an official written confirmation of withdrawal from the editorial office.
Journal of Islamic Mubādalah is committed to ensuring that all manuscript withdrawal requests are handled fairly, transparently, ethically, and responsibly. This policy is intended to protect authors, reviewers, editors, and the integrity of the scholarly publication process while preventing duplicate submission, publication misconduct, and misuse of editorial resources.
